After running the independent, boutique-style newsletter for over four years, this expansion aims to offer deeper content and closer interaction with the most dedicated readers without altering the core, free weekly publication.
The Three Pillars of the New Space
The Patronite subscription is designed around three main features:
- Long-form Video Content: Monthly 40-to-80-minute videos exploring complex topics and personal case studies that do not fit into the standard text newsletter format.
- Active Community: A moderated space for like-minded readers to network, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions.
- Audience-Driven Topics: Subscribers will directly influence future content through surveys, Q&A sessions, and direct suggestions.
A Value-First Subscription Model
Rather than paywalling previously free content—a tactic the author strongly dislikes—the core weekly newsletter will remain entirely free. The Patronite tiers (priced at 25 PLN and 52 PLN, representing the cost of a coffee meetup) offer entirely new value. The author rejected standard marketing gimmicks, such as cheap “support-only” tiers or artificially inflated premium tiers, opting for a transparent, fair-exchange pricing strategy.
Overcoming Procrastination and Testing Value
For the creator, this launch serves as a personal challenge to accomplish two goals: to honestly test the commercial viability and quality of his content, and to force himself out of his comfort zone to master video production. Reflecting on his own delay in launching this project, the author warns against letting the “easy path to a lesser goal” distract from more ambitious, long-term aspirations.
